SPUS SIGNS MOA WITH WORK IMMERSION PARTNERS
St. Paul University Surigao’s Basic Education Department and their partner institutions assembled at the Senior High School Conference Hall to sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 10, 2023, to deploy grade 12 students to their prospective industries in accordance with the work immersion program mandated by the Department of Education.
Participants in the assembly are the representatives of the various offices under the Diocese of Surigao, Surigao City Government, St. Paul Surigao University Hospital, St. Paul University Surigao, Caraga Regional Hospital, Landbank of the Philippines, Rural Bank of Placer, Andoni T. Dumlao Construction, NC, Three Dimensions Engineering and Architectural Services, DLedgersmart Lending Corporation, Le Charde Place, and Biologic Systems Computer Services.
Other institutions not in attendance during the assembly but that have agreed to sign the MOA include the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Land Transportation Office, the PhilHealth Insurance Corporation, the Bureau of Treasury, the Provincial Police Office, Philippine Ports Authority, and the Coast Guard. There were also private companies, like Shakey’s, EJ’s Garden Cafe, Parkway Hotel, Bansay Portside, who have agreed to accept Paulinian students for work immersion.
“There is a need for school-industry partnerships that will provide the school with the necessary expertise and the venue for practical, on-the-job enterprise-based training for high school students,” said Sr. Emelita Alvarez, SPC, as she began discussing the rationale, objectives, and orientation of the work immersion.
