SPUS JOINS CEAP NATIONAL CONVENTION IN DAVAO CITY
St. Paul University Surigao (SPUS) proudly sent a distinguished delegation to the 2024 Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) National Convention, held from November 13-15, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City.
The annual gathering brought together Catholic educators from across the nation under the theme, “Pilgrims and Agents of Hope: Embracing Synodality.”
The SPUS delegation was composed of academic leaders and heads of offices, led by the University President and Regional Trustee of CEAP Caraga, Sr. Marie Rosanne Mallillin, SPC.
The convention featured a series of enlightening lectures from renowned figures in Catholic education, with the keynote address delivered by Most Rev. Pablo Virgilio S. David, D.D., President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
A highlight of the event was the conferment of the prestigious Pro Deo et Patria Award to Fr. Joel E. Tabora, SJ, recognizing his exceptional contributions to Catholic education and his dedication to the Church’s mission.
The convention also witnessed a significant ceremonial moment with the bequeathal of the CEAP Mace by the outgoing President, Rev. Fr. Albert N. Delvo, to the newly-elected President, Fr. Karel San Juan, SJ. This handover symbolizes the continued commitment of CEAP to uphold the values and principles of Catholic education in the Philippines.
The SPUS delegation expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to participate in this transformative event, which not only reinforced their commitment to Catholic education but also inspired them to be pilgrims and agents of hope in their own educational communities.
