PPI-HSF Empowers Journalism and Media Literacy

Various schools from Surigao City attended the Philippine Press Institute Scholastic Outreach Program in partnership with Hans Seidel Foundation and St. Paul University Surigao on October 17, 2023 at the SPUS Senior High School Conference Hall.

With the theme “AI and the Future of Media”, the sessions explored topics around the influence of Artificial Intelligence, photojournalism, fact-checking, and digital security. The said event featured esteemed speakers with diverse backgrounds who shared their expertise in the field of journalism: Dr. Rachel Khan from UP-Diliman; Ms. Joyce Pañares, a PPI Seminar Director; Mr. Jes Aznar, a photojournalist affiliated with the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines; and Ms. Ronalyn Olea, representing the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines.
