PACUCOA AWARDS SPUS AS INSTITUTION WITH HIGHEST NUMBER OF ACCREDITED PROGRAMS IN CARAGA

SPU Surigao is once again awarded by PACUCOA or the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission in Accreditation for being the educational institution in Caraga with the highest number of PACUCOA accredited programs for the academic year 2023-2024. It can be recalled that SPU Surigao’s 9 academic programs were granted by PACUCOA with Level I Accredited Status while 2 other programs with Associate Status since 2022. PACUCOA recognized the strong efforts and initiatives of the Paulinian Institution on sustaining Quality, Catholic, Filipino Paulinian Education in the region and in the country.

The Level I PACUCOA Accredited Programs are the Senior HS, BS Nursing, BS Mining Engineering, BS Information Technology, PhD Educational Management, PhD Business Management, MA in Teaching, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Public Administration programs. While, BS Hospitality Management and Tourism Management Programs are the University’s academic programs with PACUCOA Associate Status.

The awarding ceremonies happened on December 1, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu City, during the Awards Night of PACUCOA’s 50th or Golden Anniversary and the 2023 Annual General Assembly.

Dr. Melvin M. Niñal, Vice President for Academic Services and Dr. Nikko T. Ederio, Quality Management Director composed the official delegation of SPU Surigao to the General Assembly and Golden Anniversary Celebration and also to the Awards Night on behalf of the University President, Sr. Marie Rosanne Mallillin, SPC.

The two officials were also joined by Dr. Liza Chua (Dean of the College of Education, Culture, and Arts) and Dr. Glenn Andrin (Dean of the Graduate School and Professional Studies) who serve PACUCOA as accreditors coming from SPU Surigao.

A Plaque was given by PACUCOA to St. Paul University Surigao as a symbol of high recognition for garnering such award.
