CHS DEAN SHINES AT PNA CARAGA REGIONAL CONFERENCE, ELEVATES NURSING EDUCATION IN THE REGION

St. Paul University Surigao solidified its leadership in nursing education as Dr. Ma. Leah Sabayle, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, stood out as the sole presenter representing nursing schools in the Caraga region during the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) Caraga Regional Conference. The event, held from January 10-12, 2025, at the Philippine Gateway Hotel, gathered nurses from various sectors, including hospitals, academic institutions, government agencies, and private medical clinics.

Dr. Sabayle delivered a thought-provoking presentation on “The Evolving Nursing Education in Caraga: Preparing for a Transformational Workplace.” Her discourse shed light on the critical need to upgrade nursing education to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing healthcare landscape. She discussed strategies to prepare nursing students for the demands of a transformational workplace, including integrating emerging technologies, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultivating resilience and adaptability.

In support of the regional event, Clinical Instructors from SPUS attended the conference, reinforcing the institution’s dedication to professional development and active participation in advancing the nursing profession.

The PNA Caraga Regional Conference served as a vital platform for sharing knowledge, strengthening networks, and fostering professional growth among nursing professionals in the region.
